"My" Tanzania
Tanzania is my home. From 1986 - 1989 I've spent the most important years of my childhood there. My parents worked as aid workers in Moshi, a larger town at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, during that time.
During my days in elementary school I already used to loiter with African children - we built traps, hunted birds and caught fish in the mountain river. Because we have lived very close to the mountain forest, the vegetation around the house was extremely abundant, the supply of fruit - also from the own garden - was very rich. From the beginning, my parents made sure that our relationship is to the Tanzanian employees always was familiar and no differences were made between "black" and "white". This in turn has meant that we still have very close friendships with many Tanzanians (also to a large Maasai family).
As you can see in the pictures, the country is extremely versatile. Savannahs, rain forests, tropical regions, and a very interesting coastline are just a few characteristics of the country. The many national parks are certainly the greatest wealth of Tanzania. Here you can throughout the year see elephant, lion, zebra, buffalo, antelope, wildebeest, hippos, cheetahs and many other mammals. Very interesting are also the colorful birds.
